One of the most spectacular stories on this list belongs to Harrison Okene, a Nigerian man who was 29 in 2013 when the tugboat he was working on capsized and sank to the bottom of the ocean floor, 100 feet below the surface. As water levels rose inside the boat, he made the quick decision to abandon the exit hatch and swim deeper inside the boat. Eventually, he found a room with an air pocket at the top, a can of sardines, and some coke. Harrison continued to try his luck with the exit door but eventually resigned himself to his new home. For three days Harrison survived until divers, who were sent thinking there would be no survivors, uncovered his position.
Incredibly, Harrison's vitals were ok, and he spent three days in a decompression chamber. He is now working as a diver. See a picture of him, and other interesting things in this gallery of strange and interesting photos.
